FLINT, Mich. \u2014 The Gus Macker Basketball Tournament is set to make its return to Flint this weekend.<\/p>\n
The popular 3-on-3 basketball event, which originated in Michigan in 1974, has grown to become the third-largest event in the Flint area. <\/p>\n
Last year’s tournament attracted 170 teams and nearly 7,000 spectators over the course of two days.<\/p>\n
Coach Linnell McKenney says this year’s event has got everything. <\/p>\n
“We got the slam-dunk contest, 3-point contest, free throw contest. We are going to be giving away prizes. We got a resource fair. Man, we got everything.”<\/p>\n
The tournament will kick off Saturday in downtown Flint. Organizers are still looking for volunteers. <\/p>\n
