<\/p>\nGiannis Antetokounmpo and the No. 5 seed Milwaukee Bucks were knocked out of the 2024-25 NBA playoffs with a 4-1 series loss to the No. 4 seed Indiana Pacers in Round 1.<\/p>\n
This playoff loss marked the end of\u00a0Antetokounmpo’s 12th NBA season. Through 67 regular-season games in 2024-25, the two-time NBA MVP averaged 30.4 points and 11.9 rebounds per game \u2014 marking his third consecutive season averaging more than 30 points.<\/p>\n

On Thursday,\u00a0Antetokounmpo was\u00a0named a member of the Professional Basketball Writers Association’s All-Interview First Team, recognizing players who are “consistently thoughtful, insightful and engaging with the media.”<\/p>\n
Antetokounmpo is featured on the first team alongside Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Donovan Mitchell and Draymond Green. Durant and Curry were the top vote-getters for the honor.<\/p>\n
The second team features\u00a0Antetokounmpo’s Bucks teammate Damian Lillard, as well as Mike Conley Jr., Tyrese Haliburton, Bam Adebayo and Josh Hart.<\/p>\n
Antetokounmpo provided another viral press conference moment after the Bucks’ Game 5 loss to the Pacers. The nine-time NBA All-Star discussed being “humble in victory” after his infamous postgame interaction with Tyrese Haliburton’s father.<\/p>\n

“I believe in being humble in victory,” Antetokounmpo said after the season-ending loss. “A lot of people out there that are like, no, when you win the game, you talk [expletive] and it’s a green light for you to be disrespectful towards somebody else. I disagree.”<\/p>\n
“Losing the game, emotions run high,” Antetokounmpo continued. “Having a fan — which at the moment I thought it was a fan, but then I realized it was Tyrese’s dad. Which I love Tyrese. I think he’s a great competitor.<\/p>\n
“His dad coming on the floor and showing me his son — a towel with his face on [it], [saying] ‘This is what we do. We do this.’ I feel like that’s very, very disrespectful.”<\/p>\n
