The Golden State Warriors<\/a> and Jonathan Kuminga seem stuck in holding pattern. The two sides remain far apart<\/a> in contract negotiations while other teams offering more money<\/a> lack the cap space and have been unwilling to meet the Warriors trade demands. Without a contract, Kuminga has decided not to play in this summer\u2019s AfroBasket tournament with the Democratic Republic of Congo\u2019s team, according to a report by Marc Stein<\/a>. Kuminga is on Congo\u2019s roster for the tournament that is scheduled to begin August 12th.<\/p>\n

\u201cJonathan Kuminga was on the Democratic Republic of Congo\u2019s preliminary roster for AfroBasket in Angola, which starts Aug. 12, but I\u2019m told Kuminga is not expected to play for his national team due to his ongoing restricted free agency stalemate with Golden State,\u201d Stein wrote in a tweet on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Kuminga was easily the most proven player scheduled to be on the team\u2019s roster, but now without the young NBA wing, Congo\u2019s chances of winning the tournament lessen.
