The biggest headline surrounding the Golden State Warriors this offseason has continued to be their ongoing saga with young forward Jonathan Kuminga.<\/p>\n

Kuminga is currently a restricted free agent and after falling out of Steve Kerr\u2019s rotation last season, many around the NBA believe that he will be moving on from Golden State this summer.<\/p>\n

Despite this, Kuminga has yet to make a decision regrading his future, though it was reported on Wednesday that he turned down a contract offer from the Warriors.<\/p>\n

There were also reports on Wednesday that the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns have made a contract offer to Kuminga and ESPN\u2019s Marc J. Spears revealed that the Kings are his preferred destination.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Kings are offering a starting spot. He’s talked on a zoom call with Scott Perry, BJ Armstrong and also with Doug Christie. He’s in,\u201d Spears said about Kuminga.<\/p>\n

This is a massive report by Spears and one that does not come as a major surprise, especially with Sacramento offering Kuminga a starting spot if he signs with them.<\/p>\n

Of course, the Kings will have to pull off a sign-and-trade with the Warriors to acquire Kuminga which may be easier said than done.<\/p>\n

It has already been reported that the Warriors turned down the Kings\u2019 offer of Devin Carter, Dario Saric and a protected first-round pick for Kuminga and with Golden State\u2019s asking price remaining high, it may be difficult for Sacramento to pull off a trade for the young forward.<\/p>\n

Despite this, Kuminga could also force the Warriors into trading him to the Kings, which would be the worst-case scenario for Golden State.<\/p>\n

Either way, it appears as though Kuminga\u2019s time with the Warriors is nearing an end, which is not a complete surprise after last season, with the Kings being named his preferred destination.<\/p>\n
