The\u00a0Brooklyn Nets<\/a>\u00a0have 52 jersey numbers worn by over 600 different players over the course of their history since the franchise was founded in 1967 as a charter member of the American Basketball Association (ABA), when the team was known as the “New Jersey Americans”.<\/p>\n

Since then, that league has been absorbed by the NBA with the team that would later become the New York\u00a0Nets<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0New Jersey Nets<\/a>\u00a0before settling on the name by which they are known today, bringing their rich player and jersey history with them to the league of today.<\/p>\n

To commemorate the players who played for the\u00a0Nets<\/a>\u00a0over the decades wearing those 52 different jersey numbers,\u00a0Nets<\/a>\u00a0Wire is covering the entire history of the franchise’s jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. The 15th of those 52 different numbers is jersey No. 13 which has has had a total of 18 players wear the number in the history of the team.<\/p>\n

The seventh of those players wearing No. 13 played in the Brooklyn Nets<\/a> era, guard alum Landry Shamet. After ending his college career at Wichita State, Shamet was picked up with the 26th overall selection of the 2018 NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers.<\/p>\n

The Kansas City, Missouri native would play part of the first seasons of his pro career with the Sixers, and also with the Los Angeles Clippers before that team dealt him to Brooklyn in 2020. His stay with the team would span a single season, ending when he was traded to the Phoenix Suns in 2021.<\/p>\n

During his time suiting up for the Nets, Shamet wore only jersey Nos. 13 and 20 and put up 9.3 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game.<\/p>\n
