SAN ANTONIO – Local business leaders, restaurateurs, hotel and hospitality workers, and artists gathered on the steps of City Hall Wednesday morning to advocate for a positive City Council vote on the Spurs arena term sheet.<\/p>\n

The non-binding agreement outlines costs and provides voters<\/a> with a full picture ahead of the Nov. 4 election. Supporters include area chambers of commerce, restaurant and bar owners, downtown residents, and local creatives, all standing together to back Project Marvel.<\/p>\n

Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones, who is advocating for a pause on the project, calling for another economic impact report and more public meetings, hijacked the rally, asking for more time for an independent economic study. The mayor was not invited to the event but instead one of the speakers graciously let her speak. <\/p>\n
