An NBA trade idea sending Ron Holland<\/a> II, Jaden Ivey<\/a> and Tobias Harris<\/a> from the Detroit Pistons to the Boston Celtics has been created. <\/p>\n

NBA writer Grant Hughes of Bleacher Report<\/a> created the following trade idea between the Pistons and Celtics:<\/p>\n

Detroit Pistons get: Jaylen Brown<\/a><\/p>\n

Boston Celtics get: Ron Holland II, Jaden Ivey, Tobias Harris and a 2027 first-round pick (protected 1-4)<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Celtics get $7.7 million in 2025-26 salary savings\u2014not enough to get them out of the tax this season, but every little bit helps,\u201d Hughes wrote. \u201cWhen Harris\u2019 $26.6 million comes off the books after the season, Boston will be free and clear.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Celtics will not be a championship contender next season since Jayson Tatum<\/a> won\u2019t play. The All-Star small forward is recovering from the right Achilles tendon tear he suffered in Game 4 of the 2025 Eastern Conference Semifinals against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.<\/p>\n

Boston president of basketball operations Brad Stevens has been extremely busy this offseason. He traded Jrue Holiday<\/a> to the Portland Trail Blazers for Anfernee Simons<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Kristaps Porzi\u0146\u0123is<\/a>\u00a0to the Atlanta Hawks for\u00a0Georges Niang<\/a>. Stevens then traded Niang to the Utah Jazz for\u00a0RJ Luis<\/a>\u00a0Jr. He also signed\u00a0Chris Boucher<\/a>,\u00a0Luka Garza<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Josh Minott<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Since it\u2019s unknown what type of player Tatum will be once he returns from his Achilles injury, some people believe the Celtics should retool and trade Brown, who will make $53.1 million next season, for a young player like Holland II, who is only 20. <\/p>\n

\u201cSummer league showings warrant skepticism, but Ron Holland II\u2019s effort in Vegas featured offensive flourishes that suggest the incoming sophomore might be closer to stardom than he appeared as a rookie, when he brought relentless defensive intensity but struggled to make a positive impact on the other end,\u201d Hughes wrote. \u201cHolland isn\u2019t exactly a buy-low candidate, but a continuation of what he showed over the summer could take the former No. 5 pick off the market entirely.\u201d<\/p>\n
