{"id":25167,"date":"2025-05-11T12:04:09","date_gmt":"2025-05-11T12:04:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/25167\/"},"modified":"2025-05-11T12:04:09","modified_gmt":"2025-05-11T12:04:09","slug":"aaron-judge-talks-knicks-and-fellow-captain-jalen-brunson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/25167\/","title":{"rendered":"Aaron Judge talks Knicks and fellow captain, Jalen Brunson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. \u2014 The captain of the Yankees wishes he could see more of the captain of the Knicks, but he has been impressed with what he has seen.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from Games 3 and 6 of the first round of the NBA playoffs \u2014 which were both in Detroit \u2014 each Knicks playoff game has coincided with a Yankees game. <\/p>\n<p>The Yankees were playing again Saturday on the other side of the country as the Knicks hosted Game 3 of the second round against the Celtics at the Garden, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/05\/10\/sports\/knicks-completely-crumble-at-garden-as-celtics-dominate-game-3\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">where they suffered a lopsided 115-93 loss<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been tough to catch a game,\u201d Judge said before <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/05\/10\/sports\/yankees-blow-late-lead-after-early-comeback-as-as-win-slugfest\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Saturday\u2019s 11-7 loss to the A\u2019s <\/a>at Sutter Health Park. \u201cBut I\u2019ve been seeing the highlights, seeing what they\u2019re doing. <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s impressive, especially going up against Boston. They just won it, the former champs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd for [the Knicks] to have a two-game lead, it\u2019s pretty impressive. They\u2019ve been up. They\u2019ve been down big. Come back with some great clutch plays at the end on the offensive side and defensive side. I wish we could catch a game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Judge met Jalen Brunson last year when Brunson threw out the ceremonial first pitch at a game in The Bronx. <\/p>\n<p>Arguably the two most popular athletes in New York talked on the field for several minutes, not enough time to truly get to know each other but enough time for Brunson to make an impression.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeems like a great guy,\u201d said Judge, who himself was a high school basketball star in Northern California. \u201cHe also had his whole family there, which I think speaks volumes about the type of person he is.
