The Cleveland Cavaliers got bad news Monday, but it’s not the worst case scenario. Donovan Mitchell did aggravate an ankle injury during the team’s 129-109 loss<\/a> in Game 4 vs. the Indiana Pacers, but it’s possible he will play in Game 5.<\/p>\n

Mitchell is considered a game-time decision ahead of Game 5 on Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.<\/p>\n

Mitchell left Sunday’s contest while warming up for the second half<\/a>. While taking shots on the court, Mitchell appeared to tweak his ankle. He did not play in the second half due to the injury, finishing the contest with 12 points.<\/p>\n

After the game, Cavaliers coach Kenny Atkinson said Mitchell would undergo an MRI on Monday.<\/p>\n

Mitchell has been the Cavaliers’ best contributor during its series with the Pacers. Through four games, he’s averaging 34 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. He dropped 43 points in the Cavaliers’ Game 3 over the Pacers.<\/p>\n

Injuries have defined the series. The Cavaliers were without Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and De’Andre Hunter during a Game 2 loss, during which Mitchell scored 48 points in 35 minutes. The trio returned for Game 3, helping Mitchell lead the Cavaliers to a win.<\/p>\n

Despite Mitchell’s production, the Cavaliers trail the series 3-1.
