Anthony Davis isn\u2019t even waiting until the start of the new season to spark concerns about his health once again.<\/p>\n
The Dallas Mavericks big man Davis could potentially miss the start of the 2025-26 campaign while he recovers from offseason eye surgery. Veteran NBA writer Marc Stein made the troubling revelation during an appearance this week on the \u201cDLLS Dallas Mavericks Podcast.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cBased on everything that I\u2019m told, he\u2019s not fully back on the court yet,\u201d said Stein of Davis<\/a>. \u201cHe can\u2019t be fully back on the court yet \u2026 When [training camp] practices start on September 30th, will AD even be ready to practice at that point? We don\u2019t know that yet.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIs AD gonna be ready to go on Opening Night?\u201d Stein continued. \u201cOctober 22nd ain\u2019t that far away. There\u2019s so many questions.\u201d<\/p>\n We learned in July that the 10-time All-Star Davis, now 32 years old, had undergone surgery to address a detached retina in his eye<\/a>. He was hit in the face multiple times during the season (with one particularly ugly hit occurring in April<\/a>) and played through the ailment for the rest of the year.<\/p>\n
