Day one of the NBA Combine may have yielded a key result that could push star guard Jase Richardson back to Michigan State for another year.<\/p>\n
The official NBA Combine measurements of players took place on Monday, with Richardson coming in at a height that has some anticipating him to drop in the 2025 NBA Draft. Richardson came in at 6-foot-0 1\/2 inches tall and 178.4 pounds, according<\/a> to Jonathan Givony of ESPN. This is notably shorter and lighter in weight than his listed measurements on the Spartans’ official roster: 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n Richardson starred for the Spartans in his lone season at the collegiate level, averaging 12.1 points per game and shooting above 40 percent from three-point range. That strong season resulted in Richardson rising up mock drafts into the lottery range and ultimately him declaring for the NBA Draft. However, these measurements could hurt his stock and move him down the pecking order in next month’s NBA Draft.<\/p>\n Richardson still has the opportunity to return to Michigan State for another season should he want to go that route. Spartans head coach Tom Izzo said last month<\/a> he believes there’s still a possibility that could happen, but there has been no other indication of where Richardson is at in keeping that door open. Should his draft stock dip, maybe he would consider a return for a second season at Michigan State — which would instantly move the Spartans up as a true national championship contender next year.<\/p>\n Richardson has until May 28 to potentially pull out of the NBA Draft and return to Michigan State.
