{"id":294549,"date":"2025-09-20T23:25:14","date_gmt":"2025-09-20T23:25:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/294549\/"},"modified":"2025-09-20T23:25:14","modified_gmt":"2025-09-20T23:25:14","slug":"big-east-releases-2025-26-uconn-womens-basketball-schedule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/294549\/","title":{"rendered":"Big East releases 2025-26 UConn women&#8217;s basketball schedule"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courant.com\/tag\/uconn-womens-basketball\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">UConn women\u2019s basketball<\/a> team\u2019s path to an NCAA Championship repeat in 2025-26 is set after the Big East <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bigeast.com\/news\/2025\/9\/19\/big-east-announces-2025-26-womens-basketball-conference-schedule.aspx\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">released its complete schedule<\/a> on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The Huskies will play 20 Big East games this season compared to 18 the past two years, facing each opponent for one matchup at home and one on the road. The team opens conference play at Xavier on Nov. 30, and plays its Big East home openers at Gampel Pavilion against DePaul on Dec. 7 and against Marquette at PeoplesBank Arena on Dec. 17.<\/p>\n<p>UConn\u2019s final game at Gampel Pavilion will be against Providence on Feb. 22, and it will host Georgetown for its last home game at PeoplesBank Arena on Feb. 26. The Huskies conclude their regular-season slate at St. John\u2019s on March 1.<\/p>\n<p>Tip times and TV information will be released at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>UConn went undefeated in Big East play in 2024-25 for the second straight season, cruising to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courant.com\/2025\/03\/11\/how-leading-with-joy-brought-uconn-womens-basketball-to-another-big-east-tournament-championship\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">12th consecutive conference tournament championship<\/a>. The Huskies have won the Big East regular-season title 24 times in their history including every season since rejoining the conference in 2020-21.<\/p>\n<p>The Huskies also have a <a href=\"https:\/\/uconnhuskies.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/schedule\/2025-26\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">strong nonconference slate<\/a> in 2025-26, which features 10 2025 NCAA Tournament teams and six who finished last season ranked in the AP Top 25. They will host five matchups at home, headlined by iconic rivalries against Notre Dame on Jan. 19 and Tennessee on Feb. 1.<\/p>\n<p>The team also begins new home-and-home series with Florida State on Nov. 9 at Gampel Pavilion and Ohio State on Nov. 16 at PeoplesBank Arena. UConn\u2019s biggest game on the road in nonconference play is an Elite Eight rematch against USC in Los Angeles on Dec. 13.<\/p>\n<p>The Huskies enter this season as favorites to defend their 2025 NCAA Championship with Final Four Most Outstanding Player <a href=\"https:\/\/uconnhuskies.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/azzi-fudd\/14068\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Azzi Fudd<\/a> and WBCA Freshman of the Year <a href=\"https:\/\/uconnhuskies.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/sarah-strong\/14073\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sarah Strong<\/a> both returning alongside the majority of last year\u2019s roster.
