He said Sept. 2 that he <a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/philadelphia-76ers-mccain-87bc99c6b449e4a76ab25335dc1ea2bc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">was \u201con pace\u201d<\/a> to returning for the opening tipoff.<\/p>\n<p>The Sixers had more than their share of injuries to dash any championship hopes they took into last season.
