{"id":30499,"date":"2025-05-13T18:42:08","date_gmt":"2025-05-13T18:42:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/30499\/"},"modified":"2025-05-13T18:42:08","modified_gmt":"2025-05-13T18:42:08","slug":"uconn-women-to-take-part-in-hall-of-fame-showcase","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/30499\/","title":{"rendered":"UConn women to take part in Hall of Fame Showcase"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courant.com\/tag\/uconn-womens-basketball\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">UConn women\u2019s basketball<\/a> program will compete in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hoophall.com\/events\/womens-showcase\/tickets\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Basketball Hall of Fame Women\u2019s Showcase<\/a> on Nov. 21 and 23 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, it announced Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>UConn will open the event, which has adopted a tournament-style format, against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/womens-college-basketball\/team\/_\/id\/254\/utah-utes\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Utah<\/a> on Nov. 21. The Huskies will face either Syracuse or Michigan on Nov. 23.<\/p>\n<p>This is the 12th-annual edition of the Basketball Hall of Fame Women\u2019s Showcase. UConn is 45-1 all-time at Mohegan Sun Arena.<\/p>\n<p>UConn and Utah will be meeting in women\u2019s basketball for the first time ever. The Utes finished 22-9 last season and lost to No. 9 seed Indiana in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The program has enjoyed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cbb\/schools\/utah\/women\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">somewhat of a renaissance<\/a> in recent years, first under coach <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lynne_Roberts_(basketball)\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lynne Roberts<\/a>, who helped guide the Utes to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances and was named Pac-12 Coach of the Year in 2023, then under Gavin Peterson, who guided the team back to the NCAAs this season. Peterson took over after Roberts left to <a href=\"https:\/\/sparks.wnba.com\/news\/los-angeles-sparks-name-lynne-roberts-head-coach\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">take the L.A.
