The Golden State Warriors<\/a> will look to extend their first-round series lead against the Houston Rockets<\/a> when they host Game 4 on Monday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM PT in San Francisco and can be watched on TNT and NBC Sports Bay Area.<\/p>\n

Previously with the Warriors:<\/p>\n

Golden State seized control of the series on Saturday night, defeating Houston 104-93<\/a> in Game 3 to take a 2-1 lead. Playing without Jimmy Butler\u2014who was ruled out prior to tip-off with a pelvis contusion\u2014the Warriors had to lean heavily on the heroics of Stephen Curry. The superstar point guard torched the Rockets for a game-high 36 points, consistently breaking down Houston\u2019s defense no matter what coverage was thrown at him.<\/p>\n

Curry wasn\u2019t alone though. He received help from Buddy Hield and Gary Payton II who combined for 33 points off the bench, with Payton scoring 11 of his 16 points in the fourth-quarter. Rookie Quinten Post, who was inserted into the starting lineup in Butler\u2019s absence, also made an impact with a game-high 12 rebounds.<\/p>\n

What to watch for tonight:<\/p>\n

All eyes will once again be on Butler\u2019s status heading into Game 4. According to reports<\/a>, Butler was seen getting up shots during warmups before Game 3, but the team opted to play it safe and give him some extra recovery time. Now, reports before tonight\u2019s game suggest that the Warriors \u201cexpect\u201d Butler to make his return in Game 4.<\/p>\n

Butler\u2019s return would be a major boost for Golden State. His ability to impact both sides of the floor as well as limit turnovers by slowing down the Warriors\u2019 offense were all critical in Game 1 of this series. While they found a way to win without him in Game 3, replicating that success against Houston\u2019s physical defense won\u2019t be easy.<\/p>\n

Adding to that, tensions are already beginning to rise as the series wears on. Draymond Green and Jalen Green were seen exchanging words after Game 3, with the trash talk spilling into their postgame press conferences.<\/p>\n
