The Kings have agreed to a contract with free agent\u00a0forward\/center Precious\u00a0Achiuwa, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported, citing sources. <\/p>\n
In a corresponding move to make roster space, the Kings are expected to waive center Isaac Jones, per Charania.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Achiuwa, in his sixth NBA season, was waived by the Miami Heat on Oct. 18\u00a0in their final roster cuts following training camp.\u00a0He was selected by the Heat with the No. 20 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. He was traded to the Toronto Raptors\u00a0before the 2021\u00a0season, and\u00a0was later traded to the New York Knicks in December 2023.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Last season for the Knicks,\u00a0Achiuwa\u00a0played in\u00a057 games and started in 10. He averaged 6.6 points\u00a0and 5.6 rebounds per game.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Jones, now in his second NBA season,\u00a0originally signed a two-way contract with the Kings in July 2024. Last season, he\u00a0played\u00a040 games for Sacramento and averaged 3.4 points and 1.4 rebounds per game in just 7.6 minutes per game.\u00a0This season, he played in just three of the Kings\u2019 seven games, totaling just\u00a03 points.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Jones\u2019 lone field goal this season came during his Oct. 24 start against the Utah Jazz.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Achiuwa\u00a0will vie for playing time off the bench with other Kings centers, like Drew Eubanks, Maxime\u00a0Raynaud\u00a0and Dylan Cardwell.\u00a0<\/p>\n
