The\u00a0Brooklyn Nets<\/a>\u00a0have 52 jersey numbers worn by over 600 different players over the course of their history since the franchise was founded in 1967 as a charter member of the American Basketball Association (ABA), when the team was known as the “New Jersey Americans”.<\/p>\n

Since then, that league has been absorbed by the NBA with the team that would later become the New York\u00a0Nets<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0New Jersey Nets<\/a>\u00a0before settling on the name by which they are known today, bringing their rich player and jersey history with them to the league of today.<\/p>\n

To commemorate the players who played for the\u00a0Nets<\/a>\u00a0over the decades wearing those 52 different jersey numbers,\u00a0Nets<\/a>\u00a0Wire is covering the entire history of the franchise’s jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. The 16th of those 52 different numbers is jersey No. 14 which has has had a total of 29 players wear the number in the history of the team.<\/p>\n

The first of those players wearing No. 14 played in the\u00a0Brooklyn Nets<\/a> era, guard alum Darius Morris. After ending his college career at Michigan, Morris was picked up with the 41st overall selection of the 2011 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Los Angeles, California native would play the first two seasons of his pro career with the Lakers. He would also have stints with the Philadelphia 76ers<\/a>, Los Angeles Clippers<\/a>, and Memphis Grizzlies<\/a> before he would sign with Brooklyn in 2014.<\/p>\n

His stay with the team would span part of a single season, his last at the NBA level. During his time suiting up for the Nets, Morris wore only jersey No. 14 and put up 2.2 points and 1.3 assists per game.<\/p>\n
