Making his regular season debut on Tuesday, Nov. 18<\/a>, James became the first player in NBA history to play 23 seasons, breaking the tie he held with Hall of Fame guard Vince Carter. The Los Angeles Lakers<\/a>, however, were caught in an unexpected battle with the Utah Jazz<\/a>, eventually pulling away for a 140-126<\/a> win.<\/p>\n Utah pushed the pace and exploded on offense in the first half, dropping 71 before intermission. The Lakers, on the other hand, were trying to assimilate James into the rhythm of the offense.
