The cold winter nights invariably means you’re enjoying what’s on TV more than at other times of the year. And live sport is the perfect way to spend your time on the sofa, with Amazon Prime Video<\/a> offering elite football and basketball to keep you entertained \u2013 alongside an array of sports documentaries as well. <\/p>\n

It doesn’t get bigger than the Champions League, and Amazon Prime<\/a> has exclusive access in the UK to showcase Europe’s biggest club competition. It’s the final throes of the group stages, and plenty of drama is expected. Real Madrid will host Manchester City in the coming weeks, Liverpool and Arsenal still need to head to San Siro to face last season’s finalists Inter Milan, while Newcastle will hope they don’t need to rely on beating the holders, PSG, in France to progress to the next round \u2013 and that’s even before the knockout stages have begun. <\/p>\n

Arsenal are the favourites, though. After a strong start to the season, they’ve emerged as the team to beat, with Bayern Munich and PSG also heavily fancied. But there’s a long way to go, and anything is possible. <\/p>\n

The Champions League isn’t the only live sport available to watch on Prime Video, with the platform having secured coverage to stream 87 NBA games during the 2025\/26 season \u2013 plus the Finals in June 2026. Things have only just started on the courts, with plenty of twists and turns remaining. <\/p>\n

And, on the few nights when live sport isn’t available? Well, documentaries such as Kenny Dalglish, Federer: 12 Final Days, and Ronnie O\u2019Sullivan: The Edge of Everything are all available to pass the time. It’s really not difficult to get your sports fix this winter. <\/p>\n

Now past his peak, Ryan prefers to mix weightlifting with running \u2013 he achieved a marathon PB of 3:31:49 at Manchester in April 2025, but credits the heat for failing to get below the coveted 3:30 mark\u2026<\/p>\n
