It has been an ugly run for the Minnesota Timberwolves of late. Anthony Edwards helped to waste a 40-burger against the Phoenix Suns<\/a>, and the team carried their problems into a loss against the Sacramento Kings. Then an ugly closing stretch against Oklahoma City sank them into a three-game losing streak<\/a>.<\/p>\n Minnesota bested the Boston Celtics on Saturday, and returned in a back-to-back Sunday with arguably the best closing stretch they have had all season. Edwards was in the middle of it, and he set a new franchise record in the process.<\/p>\n Timberwolves scoring title belongs to Anthony Edwards<\/p>\n Plenty of hoopla is generated when a player goes off for 40 or 50 points. Those are the outlier games though. Since Tim Connelly didn\u2019t shuffle the roster much<\/a> this offseason, more pressure falls on the shoulders of Edwards. If Chris Finch\u2019s team is going to make their first NBA Finals then the superstar has to find a new level. He can\u2019t close out games like he did when they blew it against the Suns, but a 36-19 finish Sunday against the Spurs shows that the Timberwolves do have that dog somewhere in them.<\/p>\n Now 12-8 this season<\/a>, the Minnesota Timberwolves can build momentum off of their latest win. They are back in action Tuesday in New Orleans against the Pelicans.
