Darrion Williams<\/a> is one of the prospects that had options as a player both testing for the 2025 NBA Draft<\/a> and in the NCAA Transfer Portal<\/a>. He has now since made his choice of where he\u2019ll be playing basketball next season.<\/p>\n

Williams has reportedly withdrawn his name from the NBA Draft this morning per Jon Rothstein at CBS Sports<\/a>. He\u2019ll now be returning to college basketball with that as one of the best-available players still in the portal.<\/p>\n

Williams has played three collegiate seasons with Texas Tech<\/a> and Nevada<\/a>. He has made 100 appearances, 97 of those being starts, with the Red Raiders and Wolfpack in averaging 11.4 points (44.9% FG, 37.9% 3PT), 6.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. He then had a career-best season this past year as a junior in Lubbock, as a selection as First Team All-Big 12 who helped Texas Tech to make the Elite Eight, he posted 15.1 points (43.9% FG, 34% 3PT on 1.4 makes), 5.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.3 steals.<\/p>\n

Williams, a Sacramento native, played at Bishop Gorman<\/a> in Las Vegas after playing at Capital Christian<\/a>. He did so as a member of the 2022 recruiting cycle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now, per the latest update to On3\u2019s Industry Ranking<\/a> of 2025\u2019s Top Transfer Portal Players, Williams is the third-best still available behind only Memphis\u2019<\/a> PJ Haggerty<\/a> and St. John\u2019s<\/a> RJ Luis<\/a>. He rates at No. 6 overall as the No. 1 small forward. That should bring multiple programs to get involved in his transfer recruitment, including a possible return to Texas Tech, with schools like Kansas<\/a> and<\/a> NC State<\/a> among the leading contenders for him per those at \u2018The Field of 68\u2019 this morning.<\/p>\n

Williams has made his first decision as far as staying in the NCAA or going on to the NBA. He\u2019ll now make another in the coming time as to which program he\u2019ll commit, or re-commit, to from the portal.<\/p>\n
