That\u2019s what we\u2019ve seen out of the\u00a0Los Angeles Clippers<\/a> thus far, who have continued to stress scoring out of the mid-range with the seventh-highest volume in that area. <\/p>\n One wrinkle this season \u2014 which we saw develop in 2024 \u2014 is that L.A.\u2019s also taking a ton of 3-pointers, meaning the Minnesota Timberwolves’<\/a> strong interior defense likely won\u2019t have as much impact on this game.<\/p>\n Bogdan Bogdanovic<\/a> is sure to help matters for the Clippers, too. He\u2019s expected to return from an eight-game absence due to a hip issue, and while he\u2019s shooting just 34% from outside this season, I will trust in his 38.2% career clip over a brief nine-game sample.<\/p>\n The absence of Bogdanovic has certainly hampered this team\u2019s shooting; just three players have played fewer games. One of those names is Bradley Beal, who remains out, and another is Jordan Miller, who is shooting over 38% from deep.<\/p>\n Now, the Timberwolves are allowing just 35.7% shooting from 3, which is the 11th-best mark in the league, but they\u2019ve also been shot on at the third-lowest clip. Minnesota also ranks just 18th against the mid-range \u2014 and in the last five games has fallen even further in allowing 44.4% shooting in the zone.<\/p>\n With Bogdanovic returning and the Clippers firing away with great frequency from outside, I think this team can score the ball with a decent bit of consistency. The Timberwolves are solid against the 3, but not elite, and they are certainly bad against mid-range jumpers.<\/p>\n On the other side of the ball, the Clippers are surrendering a ton of 3-point looks and rank near the bottom of the league in defending the arc. His ability to shoot and pass the ball \u2014 coming off a seven-assist game \u2014 should make him a weapon here.<\/p>\n We\u2019ll also want to play a mid-range shooter on the Clippers, given that\u2019s probably their best matchup, and with Kawhi Leonard<\/a> excelling in this area while mixing in more 3-point looks, he\u2019s got to be our man.
