One position that the Timberwolves have reportedly been interested in upgrading this season is the point guard position and there have been reports that they are open to making a trade for a new lead guard ahead of the trade deadline.<\/p>\n

Because of this, the Timberwolves have been linked to multiple players, including both Ja Morant<\/a> and Coby White, though a recent report has them as one of the top landing spots for a guard from the Cleveland Cavaliers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to NBA analyst Jake Wenbach, the Timberwolves are considered to be a potential candidate to pursue Darius Garland<\/a> from the Cavaliers alongside the Orlando Magic<\/a> and Washington Wizards<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Of course, the Cavaliers have taken a step back this season after finishing with the best record in the Eastern Conference last year, which could see them move some of their key pieces on their roster, potentially including Garland.<\/p>\n

For Garland, he would provide the Timberwolves with a reliable scorer and playmaker alongside Edwards in the backcourt who could be the missing piece in their starting lineup.<\/p>\n
