{"id":49170,"date":"2025-05-22T05:49:19","date_gmt":"2025-05-22T05:49:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/49170\/"},"modified":"2025-05-22T05:49:19","modified_gmt":"2025-05-22T05:49:19","slug":"stephon-castle-a-unanimous-pick-for-nba-all-rookie-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/49170\/","title":{"rendered":"Stephon Castle a unanimous pick for NBA All-Rookie team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NEW YORK \u2014Former UConn guard <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/player\/_\/id\/4845367\/stephon-castle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Stephon Castle<\/a> gets one more accolade from his rookie season: The San Antonio guard was the only unanimous first-team selection on the All-Rookie team.<\/p>\n<p>Castle \u2014 the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courant.com\/2025\/04\/29\/former-uconn-guard-stephon-castle-named-nba-rookie-of-the-year\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">league\u2019s rookie of the year<\/a> \u2014 was the only player to get first team votes from all 100 members of the global panel of sportswriters and broadcasters who cast ballots to decide most of the NBA\u2019s annual awards.<\/p>\n<p>He was joined on the first team by Atlanta\u2019s Zaccharie Risacher (who was one vote away from unanimous status), Memphis teammates Jaylen Wells and Zach Edey, and Washington\u2019s Alex Sarr.<\/p>\n<p>The second-team selections were Caste\u2019s former teammate at UConn and current Portland Trail Blazer, Donovan Clingan, Miami\u2019s Kel\u2019el Ware, Chicago\u2019s Matas Buzelis, New Orleans\u2019 Yves Missi and Washington\u2019s Bub Carrington.<\/p>\n<p>Edey (73 first-team votes, 27 second-team votes) joined Castle and Risacher as the only players to appear somewhere on all 100 ballots.
