The Charlotte Hornets<\/a> added to their roster on Wednesday, signing former Clemson center PJ Hall to a two-way contract, per ESPN.<\/a><\/p>\n

Hall had been with the Greensboro Swarm, the Hornets’ G-League affiliate, this season. He averaged 14.8 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists with the Swarm. Charlotte waived<\/a> forward Drew Peterson on Wednesday morning, creating a roster spot for Hall.<\/p>\n

Hall played with the Hornets’ Summer League team in the offseason before signing a two-way contract with the Memphis Grizzlies<\/a>. He appeared in seven games with Memphis before being waived in November.<\/p>\n

Hall had a terrific career at Clemson before playing in the league. He averaged 18.3 points and 6.4 rebounds as a senior, leading the Tigers to the Elite Eight.<\/p>\n

He gave up his final year of eligibility to enter the 2024 NBA Draft and signed a two-way deal with the Denver Nuggets<\/a>. He has averaged 1.8 points and 1.3 rebounds in 26 NBA games.<\/p>\n

The Hornets have dealt with injuries at the center position. Rookie Ryan Kalkbrenner has been out with a sprained left elbow, while Mason Plumlee suffered a strained right groin against the Cleveland Cavaliers<\/a> on Monday.<\/p>\n

Center Moussa Diabate has moved into the starting lineup due to the injuries. He made the most of his opportunity on Tuesday, scoring 12 points and grabbing 18 rebounds against the Washington Wizards<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It should be a smooth transition for Hall, who has already played with some of the Hornets’ players. He could see immediate playing time, as Diabate is Charlotte’s only healthy center right now.<\/p>\n
