Chris Paul and the Los Angeles Clippers<\/a> are going to part ways. It hasn\u2019t been a matter of if, but when, since LA decided to send the veteran guard home amid a road trip.<\/p>\n

Details about the way everything unfolded have been flying out into the open over the past few weeks. At this point, the only question is where Chris Paul goes next, how he gets there, and when will he suit up again?<\/p>\n

Retirement is out of the cards\u2014and while Paul clearly wanted to finish his career in California\u2014there seems to be a strong chance he\u2019s out of the state within the next couple of months.<\/p>\n

Jake Fischer of \u2018The Stein Line\u2019 reported<\/a> that the Lakers<\/a> are an unlikely destination for the future Hall of Famer. The Golden State Warriors<\/a> had a run with Paul during the 2023-2024 season already, and the Sacramento Kings<\/a> are clearly not contenders this year.<\/p>\n

The 12-time All-Star will ultimately get a shot to sign off on his next destination. According to Fischer, the Clippers \u201chave pledged\u201d to work with Paul on finding his next destination. The star guard is prioritizing playing time, contention, and opportunity.<\/p>\n

This season, Paul is making $2.2 million with the Clippers. His contract shouldn\u2019t be difficult to move.<\/p>\n

During his 16-game run with the Clippers, Paul appeared in 16 games, averaging 2.9 points, while shooting 32 percent from the field and 33 percent from three. He produced 3.3 assists per game, and came down with 1.8 rebounds per game.<\/p>\n
