All-Star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo may have played his final game with the Milwaukee Bucks. If he seeks a trade this offseason, some top contenders such as the Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets should be in the market to acquire Antetokounmpo.<\/p>\n

But so could a non-playoff team such as the San Antonio Spurs. At least that’s what Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley argued, as he proposed<\/a> the idea of Antetokounmpo playing with fellow forward Victor Wembanyama.<\/p>\n

Buckley named the Spurs one of five potential trade landing spots for Antetokounmpo on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

“Antetokounmpo might be older and less of a shooter than the ideal co-star for Wemby, but any time there’s a chance to pair one once-in-a-generation talent with another, you make that move,” wrote Buckley<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Buckley argued if the Spurs are interested in Antetokounmpo, they could have an advantage in acquiring the two-time MVP.<\/p>\n

“The Spurs are so rich with assets that even a megadeal of this magnitude wouldn’t deplete their collection,” wrote Buckley<\/a>. “They’d give up some (but not all) of Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell, Jeremy Sochan and Keldon Johnson plus some (but not all) of the first-round picks<\/a> they own, but they should still have a solid supporting cast around their stars and avenues for expanding their talent base.”<\/p>\n

“An Antetokounmpo-Wembaynama frontcourt might break the game of basketball. It’d be a truly unfair amalgamation of size, length and skill,” concluded Buckley.<\/p>\n

Antetokounmpo will<\/a> turn 31 in December, but he remains as dominating as ever. The Bucks forward led the NBA in field goals per game this season while shooting 60.1% and averaging 30.4 points and 11.9 rebounds per contest.<\/p>\n

Behind that stat line, he made his ninth straight All-Star Game.<\/p>\n

The Bucks could shop Antetokounmpo this offseason, though, because the team lost in the first round of the playoffs for the third consecutive year. Milwaukee hasn’t advanced past the Eastern Conference Semifinals since winning the NBA title in 2021.<\/p>\n
