Giannis Antetokounmpo trade rumors are swirling after the Milwaukee Bucks lost to the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the 2025 NBA playoffs. Indiana beat Milwaukee in the first round of last year’s playoffs too.<\/p>\n

Antetokounmpo guided the Bucks to the 2021 championship against the Phoenix Suns. Since then, Milwaukee has won only one postseason series.<\/p>\n

Since Damian Lillard is expected to miss a chunk of next season recovering from his Achilles tear, some believe\u00a0Antetokounmpo should request a trade this summer.<\/p>\n

With that said, Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report<\/a> proposed that the San Antonio Spurs trade\u00a0Stephon Castle, Jeremy Sochan, Keldon Johnson and four first-round picks to the Bucks for\u00a0Antetokounmpo.<\/p>\n

The Spurs have De’Aaron Fox and Victor\u00a0Wembanyama, two of the top players in the NBA.<\/p>\n

An\u00a0Antetokounmpo-Wembanyama\u00a0frontcourt might break the game of basketball,” Buckley wrote. “It’d be a truly unfair amalgamation of size, length and skill. The Spurs might mess around and become both the unstoppable force and the immovable object. It’s never quite as simple as this, but for context, if the two bigs simply replicated their stats from this season, the towering twosome would be good for roughly 55 points, 23 rebounds, 10 assists, five blocks and two steals. That’s nightmare fuel for the 29 franchises located outside of the Alamo City.”<\/p>\n

The Bucks signed Antetokounmpo to a three-year, $175 million extension in October 2023.\u00a0Antetokounmpo has spent his entire career in Milwaukee. He’s a two-time MVP, a one-time Defensive Player of the Year and a one-time Finals MVP.<\/p>\n

Antetokounmpo averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists for the Bucks this season, while\u00a0Wembanyama averaged 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.8 blocks for the Spurs.<\/p>\n

The Spurs signed\u00a0Wembanyama to a $55 million rookie contract.<\/p>\n

“It would take an unprecedented level of aggression from the organization to pull this off, but how many chances does a team\u2014based in a non-destination market\u2014get to pair one generational talent with another? The Spurs could shift the league’s balance of power in an instant, and Antetokounmpo might feel they offer him the best chance to contend right now and for years to come,” Buckley wrote.<\/p>\n
