From the onset of the season, Tyler Herro\u2019s availability \u2014 or lack thereof \u2014 has thrown a wrench in the Miami Heat\u2019s season. <\/p>\n
Herro missed the team\u2019s first 17 games recovering from offseason foot injury before suffering a toe injury in early December, sidelining him for the last 10 games.<\/p>\n
Well, the seventh-year guard could be on the precipice of returning Sunday against the New Orleans Pelicans. He was upgraded<\/a> to questionable on the team\u2019s most recent injury report, indicating a return is near, at the very least.<\/p>\n Tyler Herro (right big toe contusion) has been upgraded to questionable for tonight’s game vs. Pelicans.<\/p>\n \u2014 Anthony Chiang (@Anthony_Chiang) January 4, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n Herro, 25, has appeared in just six games this season. He\u2019s averaging 23.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists, shooting 50.5 percent from the floor and 40.5 percent from 3-point range.<\/p>\n When he\u2019s healthy, the Heat\u2019s 6-foot-5 guard is one of the Heat\u2019s best shotmakers. He had a career-best season in 2024-25, making his first All-Star team. He averaged career highs in points (23.9) and assists (5.5) on 47.2 percent shooting and 60.5 percent true shooting.<\/p>\n Jaime Jaquez Jr., who exited Saturday\u2019s 10-point loss with a sprained right ankle, is unlikely to play. Nikola Jovic (groin) is questionable, while Vlad Goldin, Keshad Johnson and Jahmir Young will all be out, as they\u2019re currently with the Sioux Falls Skyforce.<\/p>\n Miami\u2019s game against New Orleans tips off Sunday at 6:00 p.m. EST.
