Joel Embiid<\/a> and the Philadelphia 76ers<\/a>\u2019 three-game winning streak came to an end on Monday at the hands of the Denver Nuggets<\/a>. The Sixers fought hard against a severely under-manned Nuggets side who were missing the services of Nikola Jokic<\/a>, Jamal Murray<\/a> and Aaron Gordon, to name a few. The game required an extra period to decide a winner, and it was the Nuggets who came out on top, 125-124 after overtime.<\/p>\n

Embiid did all he could for Philadelphia, registering a game-high 32 points on 13-of-22 shooting, 10 rebounds, two assists, a block and one triple in 40 minutes of action. This was the most the former NBA<\/a> MVP played all season long. Embiid is now back on the injury report heading into Wednesday\u2019s game against the Washington Wizards<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Embiid has been dealing with multiple injuries throughout the season. He has been limited to 17 games thus far, averaging 23.4 points on 46.1% shooting, 6.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.0 three-pointers in 29.3 minutes per contest.<\/p>\n

Embiid has played in all of the Sixers\u2019 last four games. However, that streak is now in danger after the seven-time All-Star was added to the injury report for Wednesday\u2019s game.<\/p>\n

The Sixers announced on Tuesday via the official injury report<\/a> that Embiid is questionable to play against Washington due to left knee injury management and a sore right ankle.<\/p>\n

Embiid underwent surgery<\/a> on his left knee during the offseason, and the Sixers have taken a cautious approach in managing his return from injury. The 31-year-old has already missed multiple games this season for injury management purposes, which could be the case again on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting, however, that Embiid is also dealing with right ankle soreness, adding further doubt on his status against the Wizards. If he sits out again, more minutes would be available for Andre Drummond<\/a> and backup center Adem Bona.<\/p>\n

The Sixers enter Wednesday\u2019s matchup with a 19-15 record. They will host the 9-25 Wizards at home, with tip-off from Xfinity Mobile Arena scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n
