Whether\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0smashing a clipboard or sharing disapproval with a\u00a0referee\u2019s\u00a0call, Warriors coach Steve Kerr is not one to shy away from expressing anger.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Kerr\u2019s latest heated moment came in the fourth quarter of the\u00a0Warriors\u2019 103-102 loss to the LA Clippers on Monday<\/a>, as\u00a0he demonstratively argued against a\u00a0no-call<\/a>\u00a0on a goaltend by Clippers\u00a0forward\u00a0John Collins<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n Warriors star Draymond Green was asked after the game if he had ever seen his coach that angry, to which he provided a hilarious and astutely self-observant example.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cYeah,\u201d Green\u00a0responded during his postgame press conference. \u201cWhen he was ready to kill me the other day in the huddle.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Green referred\u00a0to the\u00a0clash between Kerr and himself<\/a>\u00a0during a Warriors win over the Orlando Magic in December. Green left the bench and did not return to the game, saying it was \u201cbest to remove” himself.\u00a0<\/p>\n It\u2019s\u00a0a good sign for morale that Green\u00a0can\u00a0chuckle about the incident in hindsight.\u00a0<\/p>\n The team responded well after Kerr\u2019s ejection, and his players appreciated the fire that he showed after receiving some unfavorable officiating.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cTo be honest, I was going to do that and [then] I saw him…\u201d\u00a0Warriors\u00a0star Steph Curry said to reporters after the game. \u201c… I love that fired-up Steve for sure. Somebody had to do it tonight.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Jimmy Butler\u00a0felt the same way, noting how powerful it is to see Kerr\u2019s anger\u00a0in person.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cYou see it sometimes on the internet,\u201d Butler said after the game (h\/t The\u00a0Athletic\u2019s\u00a0Nick Friedell<\/a>). \u201cBut I really get to see it face to face. Like I always tell you, I like confrontation when motherf—ers start yelling so\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0definitely good.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Players always appreciate a coach who will stick up for them, especially when it seems like all the calls are going against them.\u00a0<\/p>\n As long as\u00a0that anger\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0directed at each other during a timeout\u00a0like the clash with Green, Kerr\u2019s fire could continue to be beneficial for the Warriors.\u00a0<\/p>\n
