The Washington Wizards on Thursday announced a celebration of John Wall\u2019s legacy.<\/p>\n
Wall\u2019s legacy will be celebrated on Jan. 29 during Washington\u2019s game against the Milwaukee Bucks at Capital One Arena. The first 15,000 fans will receive John Wall bobbleheads.<\/p>\n
The contest will be broadcasted in Prime Video, where Wall serves as an NBA analyst.<\/p>\n
The Wizards teased a video Thursday of Wall\u2019s iconic shot in Game 6 of the 2017 playoffs to propel the Wizards of the Boston Celtics and force a Game 7, which led many fans to speculate the team might retire Wall\u2019s No. 2 jersey.<\/p>\n
But for now, it appears Jan. 29\u2019s celebration won\u2019t include hoisting Wall\u2019s jersey into the rafters.<\/p>\n
Wall, 35, was selected by Washington with the No. 1 pick in the 2010 NBA Draft and spent nine seasons in D.C.<\/p>\n
He led the Wizards to four playoff berths and advanced to the second round three times, with the farthest run coming in 2017 when Washington lost in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.<\/p>\n

Wall\u2019s most iconic moment in a Wizards uniform came in Game 6 of the 2017 Eastern Conference semifinals against the Boston Celtics, when, with just 3.5 seconds remaining, he rose up and sunk a go-ahead 3-pointer to give Washington a 92-91 lead. The Wizards won that game to keep their season alive, and after the final buzzer, Wall climbed onto the scorer\u2019s table and pointed down, saying, \u201cThis is my city.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wall\u2019s best season in Washington came during the 2016-17 campaign, in which he earned All-NBA Third Team honors after averaging 23.1 points and 10.7 assists per game.
