(WNDU) &#8211; A 2026 Notre Dame basketball commit will be among the top-ranked players competing in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wndu.com\/2026\/01\/07\/laporte-invitational-bring-elite-high-school-basketball-indiana\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wndu.com\/2026\/01\/07\/laporte-invitational-bring-elite-high-school-basketball-indiana\/\">the LaPorte Invitational this weekend<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Jonathan Sanderson, a 6-foot-2 point guard from La Lumiere High School, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wndu.com\/2025\/06\/09\/notre-dame-mens-basketball-lands-two-class-2026-commits-la-lumiere\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wndu.com\/2025\/06\/09\/notre-dame-mens-basketball-lands-two-class-2026-commits-la-lumiere\/\">committed to Notre Dame this past summer<\/a>. He is rated as a four-star recruit by both On3 and ESPN.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Sanderson said he knew Notre Dame was the right choice for him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cEverything just fit. The coaches, how they play, everything that goes into it. It was just the right decision. It was a lot of thinking, and praying in this decision but it just came down to I wanted to play for the Irish,\u201d Sanderson said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The LaPorte Invitational will feature several top-ranked players competing throughout the weekend.
