On the court, there’s few players who bring the same level of intensity as San Antonio Spurs<\/a> star forward Victor Wembanyama. But don’t let his on-court play make you think that the Spurs big man disdains the city that is the home of the team the Spurs escaped with a 110-105 win against on Saturday (Jan. 10) evening, the Boston Celtics.<\/p>\n

Wemby opened up on his thoughts about the City of Boston after San Antonio held off Boston in a tight contest throughout, and had praise for Boston in areas one might not expect. “I mean, playing in Boston is cool,” said the Spurs star.<\/p>\n

“First of all, the city is pretty cool, I think even though, since it\u2019s a back to back so I haven\u2019t had time to really experience it, it\u2019s pretty cool, pretty walkable, unlike many American cities.”<\/p>\n

“I think they’ve got, obviously, they\u2019ve got great history, great culture,” said Wembanyama “So, it\u2019s a good team. It\u2019s one of the toughest teams in terms of class in the NBA.”<\/p>\n

As to what was on his mind when he sank two key shots in the fourth quarter? “My mindset was just, ‘I have to close out the game’. I think too often … it\u2019s easier said than done. Too often, we like doing lots of efforts, and let it go to waste, one way or the other — sort of like not letting that happen.”<\/p>\n
