The 911 call from Gregg Popovich\u2019s April medical emergency<\/a> has emerged.\u00a0<\/p>\n

TMZ released audio<\/a> of the incident on Friday, providing more details of the night the legendary Spurs coach fainted in a San Antonio steakhouse before being taken away in an ambulance.<\/p>\n

The man on the 911 call initially said a \u201cguest\u201d was \u201cnon-responding\u201d before updating the dispatcher, saying Popovich was \u201cbarely responding\u201d and had \u201cpassed out for a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n

The incident reportedly occurred around 8:20 p.m. on April 15 after Popovich, who suffered a stroke<\/a> before a game in November and was away from the team for the rest of the season, was reportedly \u201calert and talking\u201d by the time he reached the ambulance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Popovich had been inside the restaurant for two hours, and the incident was labeled a \u201cnon-life-threatening injury or illness\u201d at the time.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

A couple of weeks later, the Spurs announced that Popovich would be stepping down<\/a> as the team\u2019s head coach and would transition into a full-time role as the team\u2019s president of basketball operations.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile my love and passion for the game remain, I\u2019ve decided it\u2019s time to step away as head coach,\u201d Popovich said in a statement posted by the Spurs on May 2. \u201cI\u2019m forever grateful to the wonderful players, coaches, staff and fans who allowed me to serve them as the Spurs head coach and am excited for the opportunity to continue to support the organization, community and city that are so meaningful to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

A few days later, during a press conference to announce Mitch Johnson as San Antonio\u2019s new head coach, Popovich flashed his familiar humor<\/a> while taking the podium to pass the torch before unveiling a new T-shirt that displays the words \u201cEl Jefe,\u201d which translates from Spanish to \u201cthe boss.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cl\u2019ll have a new job and I just want to make sure everyone understands what that new job is,\u201d Popovich said as he unzipped his jacket. <\/p>\n
