The Warriors will be decked out in their gold-on-blue Icon Edition uniforms, while the Blazers will show up looking red-hot in Portland\u2019s especially eye-catching Statement Edition threads.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Believe it or not, Portland\u2019s Statement Edition unis this season represent the first time ever that the Trail Blazers have actually featured their iconic and unmistakable \u201cPinwheel\u201d logo right on the front of the jersey. The story behind the Portland Trail Blazers\u2019 Statement Edition uniforms<\/p>\n

As the histories of NBA franchises go, the Trail Blazers are kind of pioneers within the league\u2019s 80-year timeline. One of three teams that expanded the NBA into a 17-team league beginning with the 1970-1971 season, the Blazers were on the leading edge of a three-decade growth spurt that eventually saw the NBA reach its current 30-team lineup.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That pioneering spirit \u2014\u00a0combined with the pioneering spirit that helped define the settlement of the Trail Blazers\u2019 native Pacific Northwest \u2014\u00a0plays a big part in the design logic behind the 2025-2026 Statement Edition uniforms they\u2019ll be wearing against Golden State on Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Blazers\u2019 \u201cPinwheel\u201d logo \u2014 traditionally appearing down low on the shorts in past iterations of the team’s uniform \u2014\u00a0tilts at a 45-degree angle to commemorate the 45th Parallel North latitude line that runs through the region. The 10 lines that comprise the pinwheel \u2014\u00a0five on each side \u2014\u00a0were originally conceived as a way to \u201crepresent two teams of five coming together at center court in competition,\u201d according to LockerVision<\/a>, the NBA\u2019s official uniform-tracking platform.<\/p>\n

The theme of five players uniting continues along the sides of the Statement Edition\u2019s jerseys, where “the 10 black deconstructed ‘Pinwheel’ hashmarks\u2026 represent the 5 on 5 symbolism,\u201d explains LockerVision. Moving further down, the shorts feature the Trail Blazers\u2019 \u201cripcity\u201d team mantra along the beltline \u201cas a tribute to the unity between the team, community and fans,\u201d while repeating the five-stripe theme on each side.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Topping it all off, the Blazers\u2019 Statement Edition jerseys serve up a celebration of Portland\u2019s eternal status as NBA Champions with the inclusion of a gold trophy icon along the jerseys\u2019 back neckline. It\u2019s a franchise badge of honor that pays tribute to the Trail Blazers\u2019 1977 NBA Championship squad that took down the Philadelphia 76ers in six games and featured the late, legendary Bill Walton<\/a> (who earned NBA Finals MVP honors in the series).\u00a0<\/p>\n
