Ja Morant<\/a> has missed the Memphis Grizzlies<\/a>‘ last five games due to a calf injury. He has already been ruled out for Thursday\u2019s game against the Orlando Magic<\/a>, marking the 21st game he will sit out for the Grizzlies this season.<\/p>\n

It has been a tumultuous campaign for the two-time All-Star. The Grizzlies suspended Morant for one game in November for conduct detrimental to the team<\/a>. Since then, the 26-year-old has been heavily linked to trade rumors away from Memphis.<\/p>\n

The Miami Heat<\/a> have emerged as one of Morant\u2019s potential landing spots. On Wednesday, news surfaced about Morant\u2019s personal decision in Miami.<\/p>\n

Morant is currently still under contract with the Grizzlies through 2028. In 2022, he signed a five-year max extension worth $197 million<\/a>, making him the highest-paid player in franchise history.<\/p>\n

Morant\u2019s time in Memphis, however, is coming to an end. He previously stated that he no longer found joy playing for the Grizzlies. According to reports, the team is now entertaining offers for Morant<\/a> for the first time in his seven years with the Grizzlies.<\/p>\n

As it turns out, Morant has already made a move away from Memphis. According to a report by Lucas Finton and Damichael Cole of the Memphis Commercial Appeal, the All-NBA point guard purchased a $3.2 million home in Miami<\/a> on Dec. 23, 2025. The house is reportedly located approximately four miles (a 20-minute drive) away from the Heat\u2019s Kaseya Center.<\/p>\n

The Heat are reportedly interested in trading for Morant and have already entered preliminary talks<\/a> with the Grizzlies.<\/p>\n

Morant, a former Rookie of the Year and Most Improved Player winner, holds career averages of 22.4 points on 46.6% shooting, 4.6 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.3 triples per game.<\/p>\n
