The Charlotte Hornets<\/a> are continuing to find their rhythm when healthy, defeating the Los Angeles Lakers<\/a> by 18 points away from home Thursday.<\/p>\n

Despite their 15-26 record, Charlotte has been one of the league’s best<\/a> teams in recent weeks, owning the league’s best offensive rating over the past 10 games and the second highest net rating over that span.<\/p>\n

However, as the trade deadline approaches (Feb. 5), departures seem to be the only thing that could halt Charlotte’s progress.<\/p>\n

Due to their current placement (12th) in the Eastern Conference standings, the Hornets may opt to sell some of their trade assets, rather than stick with their rotation in hopes of reaching a Play-In tournament spot.<\/p>\n

Miles Bridges is one of those players and the Milwaukee Bucks<\/a> have been rumored<\/a> to be interested in acquiring the forward.<\/p>\n

Another player Charlotte could shop is backup point guard Collin Sexton. The eight-year pro is on the final year of his current contract, making him a free-agent this summer. In 32 games for Charlotte this season, he’s averaged 14.9 points, 4.1 assists, two rebounds and 0.8 steals.<\/p>\n

Although his output is a bit weaker than previous seasons, Sexton is playing in a career-low 23.6 minutes per game.<\/p>\n

According to<\/a> the Athletic, the Minnesota Timberwolves<\/a> are not interested in making a splash for starting point guards like LaMelo Ball or Ja Morant. That said, Sexton is a player that the Timberwolves are monitoring per<\/a> Hoops Hype.<\/p>\n

As for Charlotte, if Sexton isn’t moved, it could likely mean that the front office hopes to re-sign him beyond this season.<\/p>\n
