(Mandatory Credit: Sam Navarro-Imagn Images)<\/p>\n<p>Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro, who was not originally on the team\u2019s injury report ahead of their game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, will miss the game with toe and rib injuries, the team announced roughly two hours before the 8 p.m. EST tip-off.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Tyler Herro (toe, rib) listed out Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Underdog NBA (@UnderdogNBA) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UnderdogNBA\/status\/2012665169311072705?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">January 17, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Herro has been battling a nagging toe injury for much of the last two months. He returned from an 11-game absence with the toe injury, but it appears to have flared up once again.<\/p>\n<p>The rib injury, however, is new.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Miami Herald\u2019s Anthony Chiang, Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra revealed that it shouldn\u2019t be a \u201clong-term\u201d absence.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Erik Spoelstra on Tyler Herro&#8217;s rib injury that will keep him out tonight vs. Thunder: &#8220;This shouldn&#8217;t be long term. He is averaging 21.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game, shooting 49.7 percent from the floor and 35.8 percent from 3-point range.<\/p>\n<p>Outside of his playmaking \u2014 which has dropped precipitously in this new offense \u2014 Herro\u2019s offense has largely been a plus. However, it will be impossible for him \u2014 and the team \u2014 to develop any sort of rhythm with these ongoing absences. His health is out of his control, but it\u2019s thrown a wrench in the season.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p>This is a developing news story.
