It doesn’t sit right with us how Chris Paul’s NBA career has likely ended. Not that the solution is a reunion with the Phoenix Suns, that ship sailed long ago.<\/p>\n
This roster is simply too intense defensively and able to play at a speed others struggle to match to think about bringing in a 40-year-old, even if he will one day go in the Ring of Honor.<\/p>\n
Paul to Houston Rockets makes sense for everybody<\/p>\n
But what about the “Point God” making a return to another former team of his in the form of the Rockets? It kind of makes sense, and Dwyane Wade is a fan of the idea.<\/p>\n
To be clear, the Rockets are not a Chris Paul away from winning a championship, but he kind of looks like both a cheap and available candidate to hold down the fort until Fred VanVleet gets back from his ACL injury.<\/p>\n
Houston also looks like one of the few franchises out there who could do a solid job of hiding Paul defensively. <\/p>\n
Their combination of athletic wings such as Amen Thompson and the jumbo lineups featuring Steven Adams and Alperen Sengun ideal for hiding a player whose mind is willing, but the body will no longer comply.<\/p>\n
If this were to happen and be successful, it would actually be hurtful to The Valley for a couple of reasons. Most importantly it could ensure the Rockets finish the regular season above the Suns.<\/p>\n
