CLEVELAND, Ohio \u2014 Cavs point guard Darius Garland will be sidelined for at least a week. <\/p>\n

Garland, who suffered an injury to his right great toe on Wednesday, has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 right great toe sprain. He will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days, with a brief ramp-up period likely to follow. <\/p>\n

After missing Friday\u2019s 117-115 victory over Philadelphia<\/a> because of the injury, Cavs coach Kenny Atkinson said this injury was dissimilar to the turf toe on his other foot that plagued Garland in the playoffs. Eventually, Garland underwent surgery on that left toe, which kept him from participating in training camp and caused him to miss the first couple weeks of the 2025-26 regular season. <\/p>\n

Despite optimism surrounding the latest injury, with Garland in \u201cgood spirits\u201d over the past 72 hours, including in the locker room late Friday night, he underwent further evaluation and imagining that revealed the full extent of the injury. He will now undergo a series of treatment and rehabilitation in hopes of getting that toe back to full strength. <\/p>\n
