In the midst of growing chatter around the Los Angeles Lakers<\/a>‘ roster, particularly surrounding fan-favorite Austin Reaves<\/a>, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green found himself addressing a swirling rumor: that LeBron James wants teammates moved to reshape the Lakers’ championship hopes.<\/p>\n

Green, speaking on his podcast, fired back at fans who pinned such speculation on James’ agent, Rich Paul, saying there’s no basis for the idea that James is looking to have anyone traded.<\/p>\n

The chatter stems from controversial remarks Paul made on the Game Over with Max Kellerman and Rich Paul podcast, where he floated a hypothetical scenario in which Los Angeles would send Reaves to the Memphis Grizzlies for Jaren Jackson Jr., a defensive-oriented star, as part of a broader vision for a reconstructed Lakers roster.<\/p>\n

That suggestion ignited a backlash from fans, analysts, and even other NBA figures, with some interpreting Paul’s words as a veiled signal that James might want significant changes around him.<\/p>\n

But neither James nor Green has endorsed that narrative.<\/p>\n

Green addresses ‘push out’ and LeBron trade chatter<\/p>\n

Green, who has a long NBA history and a sharp media presence, used his platform to directly counter the notion that Paul’s comments reflect James’ thinking.<\/p>\n

“It’s no shocker to me that Rich said that,” Green explained on his show, referring to Paul’s advice to Warriors guard Moses Moody about “pushing Draymond out” as part of team evolution.<\/p>\n

Green framed the remarks as standard basketball business talk, not a betrayal or indication of internal strife.<\/p>\n

That episode also underscored the broader tension about agents publicly discussing roster construction and trades while their star clients are still active.<\/p>\n

Green’s comments suggest he recognizes the business dynamics in the NBA but resists fan-driven spins that James is actively trying to jostle the Lakers’ core.<\/p>\n

“I want Austin to know this is not about Austin Reaves because I love the player, love the person,” Paul said, underscoring that his intention was not to harm Reaves’ standing.<\/p>\n

That nuance, however, did little to quell the fallout.<\/p>\n

An unnamed NBA executive told Lakers Daily that Paul’s foray into trade talk was unprecedented and damaging to the Lakers’ chemistry.<\/p>\n

“We have never seen an agent for a star player have a podcast while that star player is still playing and say such outlandish things,” the exec said, adding that “everyone on the Lakers is wondering if LeBron James is saying that behind the scenes.”<\/p>\n

James himself has sought to distance his own views from Paul’s public musings. In a recent postgame interview with ESPN, James stressed that Paul’s podcast remarks aren’t reflective of how he feels.<\/p>\n
