Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves<\/a> \u201cdidn\u2019t pay much attention\u201d to Rich Paul\u2019s trade comments, according to NBA reporter Joe Vardon of The Athletic<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Paul, who is LeBron James<\/a>\u2018 agent, said on his podcast with Max Kellerman that the Lakers should trade Reaves to the Memphis Grizzlies for Jaren Jackson Jr.<\/a> <\/p>\n

\u201cA Lakers source told\u00a0The Athletic\u00a0that Reaves didn\u2019t pay much attention to Paul\u2019s comments, but one of Reaves\u2019 agents approached Paul at halftime of Tuesday\u2019s game against the Atlanta Hawks to discuss,\u201d Vardon wrote. <\/p>\n

James told NBA reporter Dave McMenamin of ESPN<\/a> he loves playing with Reaves and that Paul\u2019s comments are \u201cnot a direct reflection of me and how I feel.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think you all know by now, Rich is his own man and what Rich says is not a direct reflection of me and how I feel,\u201d James said. \u201cAnd I hope people know that. I hope people know that and if they\u2019re not sensible to know that, then I don\u2019t know what to tell them.<\/p>\n

\u201cRich, that\u2019s what he\u2019s doing. That\u2019s his whole thing. That\u2019s what he\u2019s doing. That\u2019s what he\u2019s talking about, but I have zero conversations about what his topics are going to be or what they are going to talk about. He is his own man and that is his platform.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of Reaves\u2019 agents, Reggie Berry of AMR Agency, approached Paul on the sideline near half court at halftime of the Lakers-Atlanta Hawks game Tuesday (1\/13). The two spoke for more than five minutes and the topic of conversation was Paul\u2019s public trade scenario regarding Reaves, according to McMenamin. <\/p>\n

James said there has been no fallout between him and Reaves, who is his longest-tenured teammate on the Lakers. <\/p>\n

\u201cAR knows how I feel about him,\u201d James said. \u201cAll you got to do is look at us on the bench. Me and AR talk every single day. So, AR knows how I feel about him and I hope AR \u2014 or his camp \u2014 don\u2019t look at me and think this is words from me are coming through Rich.<\/p>\n

\u201cRich has his perspective of what he sees, I have my perspective. I\u2019m a grown man, he\u2019s a grown man and I think people should realize that grown men can say whatever the f\u2014 they want to say and it shouldn\u2019t reflect somebody else is saying it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Lakers are 24-15 on the season. They are in fifth place in the Western Conference standings.<\/p>\n
