While there has been immense speculation regarding potential trades for Dallas Mavericks star <\/a>Anthony Davis<\/a>, the latest reporting could suggest that there is little movement on that front. As trade rumors around Davis have now centered around his injury history,<\/a> the latest from Jake Fischer goes into the two teams that had been reportedly pursuing the star.<\/p>\n

The two teams that had been connected to Davis ahead of the Feb. 5 trade deadline were the Atlanta Hawks<\/a> and the Toronto Raptors<\/a>, both of which might have backed off any talks. Fischer wrote for The Stein Line that both Atlanta and Toronto \u201chave been signaling that they are no longer involved\u201d<\/a> in discussions with Dallas.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a struggle, frankly, to find any active trade scenarios involving Davis at the [moment],\u201d Fischer wrote. \u201cIn recent days, both the Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors \u2014 teams previously described as the most ardent Davis suitors \u2014 have been signaling that they are no longer involved in significant trade talks with the Mavericks. The interest in Davis has seemed to cool since last week\u2019s announcement that the 32-year-old will be sidelined for at least six weeks due to ligament damage in his left hand.\u201d<\/p>\n

With Davis now dealing with a hand injury<\/a>, when announced a week ago, the report was that the ligament damage in his left hand would keep him off the court for six weeks. As his trade stock before the deadline will seemingly cool down, this has been reported by ClutchPoints\u2019 NBA insider Brett Siegel that with what Dallas is looking for Davis, he doesn\u2019t see a deal going down.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re not just going to sell him for nothing,\u201d Siegel said last Thursday on Clutch Scoops. \u201cThey want to try to get some value back, not just a salary dump move. So, probably not going to get that at the trade deadline right now. I don\u2019t see that happening where a team is going to give up multiple draft picks or young talents for a guy like Anthony Davis, who has played what, 15, 20 games since joining the Mavericks?\u201d<\/p>\n

At any rate, it remains to be seen what will happen to Davis, but it seems likely he will remain on the Mavericks, looking to recover from another injury.<\/p>\n
