Amen Thompson, Alperen Sengun, and Ime Udoka were popular choices.<\/p>\n<p>In the 2024-25 regular season, the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/basketball\/nba\/teams\/houston-rockets\/10\/\" data-autotag=\"13a51ca7-e216-40c0-a272-58d18f5541d7\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Houston Rockets<\/a> enjoyed one of the biggest year-on-year jumps of any NBA team.<\/p>\n<p>After finishing 2023-24 with a 41-41 record and a No. 11 placement among the 15 Western Conference teams, Houston improved to 52-30 and No. 2 in the West in 2024-25.<\/p>\n<p>That type of growth also made the Rockets a frequent choice in the league\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/pr.nba.com\/voting-results-2024-25-nba-regular-season-awards\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/pr.nba.com\/voting-results-2024-25-nba-regular-season-awards\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">annual awards<\/a>, which are voted on by a 100-person media panel consisting of regional, national, and international perspectives.<\/p>\n<p>Second-year forward Amen Thompson <a href=\"https:\/\/rocketswire.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/nba\/rockets\/2025\/05\/22\/rockets-star-amen-thompson-named-to-nbas-all-defensive-first-team\/83788175007\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/rocketswire.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/nba\/rockets\/2025\/05\/22\/rockets-star-amen-thompson-named-to-nbas-all-defensive-first-team\/83788175007\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">made the league\u2019s All-Defensive First Team<\/a> while also capturing votes for Defensive Player of the Year. The balloting was tabulated by an independent accounting firm, Ernst &amp; Young LLP.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a link to each category in which the Rockets had votes.
