While the Cavs are still far from where they thought they\u2019d be at this point in the 2025-26 campaign, the teams is showing some glimpses of the squad that secured the first seed in the Eastern Conference last season.<\/p>\n<p>One player who played <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cleveland.com\/cavs\/2026\/01\/the-ultimate-glue-guy-unheralded-dean-wade-becoming-cavs-starting-lineup-linchpin.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">some solid basketball<\/a> in the win over Orlando was Cavs wing Dean Wade, who scored 10 points in the win.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, Cavs head coach Kennty Atkinson had high praise for what Wade brings to the team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s the ultimate glue guy,\u201d said Atkinson, per Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com. \u201cThat\u2019s the cliche everyone uses but it\u2019s true.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wade also helped the Cavs play some solid defense on Magic wing Paolo Banchero.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe call him the \u2018blanket,\u2019\u201d said Cavs guard Donovan Mitchell. \u201cHe finds ways to help us get stops. And then when the ball is up in the air and I can\u2019t get it, with Evan and J.A. boxing out, he goes climbing to grab it. Those are the little things that win you games and also win you playoff games. It\u2019s great to go through these things, figure it out and get better.
