MEMPHIS \u2014Reports indicate that Memphis Grizzlies guard and former Murray State star Ja Morant will miss at least three weeks of playing time due to an elbow injury.<\/p>\n
Multiple sources said last week that this latest setback for the Racer Hall of Famer is a sprained ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow.<\/p>\n
Reports indicate that the problem occurred Wednesday during Memphis\u2019 124-122 loss to Atlanta at FedEx Forum in Memphis. The Grizzlies announced the severity of the injury Saturday and said the two-time All-Star would be re-evaluated in approximately three weeks.<\/p>\n
This is another setback in for Racers\u2019 only player to be named a consensus All-American. He had missed six games with an injured right calf before returning last Sunday for the Grizzlies\u2019 126-109 victory over Orlando in London. Morant had a double-double of 24 points and 13 assists and resembled the player that became among the NBA\u2019s most watched players since arriving in the league in 2019.<\/p>\n
Morant played the entire game Wednesday and had another double-double of 23 and 12 assists, which featured several of Morant\u2019s signature plays, including dunks, spectacular drives to the basket and even a blocked shot on an opposing layup.<\/p>\n
