Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors commented on the anti-ICE protests in Minneapolis. <\/p>\n
Amid the anti-ICE protests in Minneapolis, Steph Curry<\/a> of the Golden State Warriors<\/a> has finally spoken about the issue. Curry and the Warriors are in the city for their back-to-back games against the Minnesota Timberwolves<\/a> as part of their current four-game road trip.<\/p>\n Speaking to reporters after the Warriors\u2019 111-85<\/a> win on Sunday, Curry was unsurprisingly asked about his thoughts on the shooting and protests.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of heavy hearts and a lot of things, especially this Minneapolis community. Yesterday was rough. It\u2019s been rough, I know out here, and you can kind of feel it when we got here two days ago. The protests that were going on downtown,\u201d Curry said, via Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area<\/a>.<\/p>\n The league postponed the game, which was supposed to be played on Saturday, after another American citizen was shot and killed by a federal immigration officer in Minneapolis. It was the second fatal shooting by an ICE agent in the city in a span of three weeks.<\/p>\n So it was understandable that the NBA<\/a> prioritized the safety of the players before rescheduling the game on Sunday. The Warriors and Timberwolves are back at it again on Monday.<\/p>\n Curry Praises Turnout for Warriors-Timberwolves Game<\/p>\n In the same postgame press conference<\/a>, Steph Curry also gave a shout-out to all the fans who still watched the game on Sunday. Curry has nothing but love and appreciation for still supporting all the players amid all the turmoil around the city.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was amazing to watch the turnout and peaceful protests and the unified voice that was here. And you feel like that what kind of turn the tide of you know to a more positive direction,\u201d Curry said.<\/p>\n The Warriors put on a show for the fans inside the Target Center, blowing out the Timberwolves after a huge run in the third quarter.<\/p>\n Curry led the way with 26 points, seven assists and four steals. He also knocked down three 3-point shots and was a perfect 9-for-9 from the free-throw line.<\/p>\n Moses Moody<\/a> had another good game in place of Jimmy Butler<\/a>, finishing with 19 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two blocks. Brandin Podziemski<\/a> added 12 points, five rebounds, six assists and four steals, while De\u2019Anthony Melton<\/a> contributed 12 points off the bench.<\/p>\n Anthony Edwards<\/a> put up 32 points and 11 rebounds for the Timberwolves, while Donte DiVincenzo<\/a> provided 22 points and seven rebounds.<\/p>\n The Timberwolves are now on a five-game losing streak, with Golden State being just 1.5 games behind for the No. 7 spot.<\/p>\n Curry\u2019s Status for Monday\u2019s Game<\/p>\n Instead of having a rest between games against the Timberwolves, the Warriors are now forced to make a decision on Steph Curry\u2019s status for Monday\u2019s game.<\/p>\n Curry has been dealing with right knee soreness and was listed as questionable before Sunday\u2019s win. He told reporters that it will depend on how his knee responds in the morning.<\/p>\n \u201cIf everything goes well, yeah. With the recovery and all that between tonight, minutes weren\u2019t crazy, so hopefully it will respond well,\u201d Curry said<\/a>.<\/p>\n Steve Kerr also said in his postgame press conference<\/a> that he\u2019s unsure if Curry will play on Monday.
