The Broncos season is over but Davis Webb is still a busy man.<\/p>\n
The Denver quarterbacks coach had a pair of head coaching interviews lined up for Monday, an initial conversation with Buffalo and a second interview with Las Vegas, sources confirmed to The Post.<\/p>\n
Webb, 31, met with the Bills virtually earlier in the day, that team confirmed, and then was slated to travel to Las Vegas to meet in person with the Raiders, according to a source.<\/p>\n
Monday was the first day either of those was possible following Denver\u2019s 10-7 AFC Championship Game loss to New England on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Webb had already met virtually with the Raiders while Buffalo\u2019s job came open after the club fired Sean McDermott following a 33-30 loss to the Broncos in the wild-card round. Webb getting a second interview with the Raiders signals he\u2019s in the mix for the job there.<\/p>\n
He\u2019s got a long history, also, with Bills star quarterback Josh Allen. In fact, he told The Post a year ago that he considers Allen his best friend.<\/p>\n
\u201cI love Buffalo, it\u2019s my favorite place I\u2019ve ever played,\u201d Webb said in January 2024. \u201cNot even close. My favorite teams were in Buffalo. My best friend is the starting quarterback over there. Sean McDermott offered me the quarterback coach job when I was playing.<\/p>\n
\u201cLike, there\u2019s a lot of friends, memories and moments there that will never leave me.\u201d<\/p>\n
This year, he oversaw a quarterbacks room featuring Bo Nix, Jarrett Stidham and Sam Ehlinger in Denver.<\/p>\n
Ehlinger said Webb was one of the biggest reasons he was drawn to Denver and then stayed even when he had a chance to return to Indianapolis\u2019 53-man roster after Daniel Jones got hurt there.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a unique combination of experience from a player standpoint as well as football IQ and understanding of the game,\u201d Ehlinger said Monday. \u201cYou see a lot of these young playcallers get opportunities to become head coaches because they\u2019re that good at calling plays. And Davis is a little unique in that he hasn\u2019t called plays for a regular-season game, but I think the way he can speak football, obviously the room he\u2019s created here the last few years.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd then Bo\u2019s development, I think people see the way he\u2019s taught him the NFL game and obviously Bo\u2019s had success early in his career.\u201d<\/p>\n
Webb is in demand. If he doesn\u2019t get one of the four remaining head coaching jobs, he\u2019ll almost certainly be widely requested as an offensive coordinator candidate.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a unique combination of, he played, he was held in very high regard when he was a player with different coaching staffs,\u201d Ehlinger said. \u201cHe\u2019s developed a really good reputation and he\u2019s just a really smart football coach.\u201d<\/p>\n
Broncos sign six to futures deals. Denver did some offseason housekeeping Monday, signing six of its practice squad players to futures deals.<\/p>\n
The list:\u00a0ILB Levelle Bailey, TE Caleb Lohner, DL Jordan Miller, RB Cody Schrader, OL Calvin Throckmorton and RB Deuce Vaughn.<\/p>\n
Bailey and Throckmorton appeared in games this fall for Denver, while Lohner was the team\u2019s seventh-round pick in last April\u2019s draft but spent all of his rookie year on the practice squad.<\/p>\n
Futures contracts keep practice squad players under team control until the 2026 league year begins. Then they again become part of the 90-man offseason roster.<\/p>\n
Denver will likely sign more players to futures deals in the coming days.<\/p>\n
