Sometimes you just have to let old friends have their moment.<\/p>\n

Brandin Podziemski<\/a> recognized that during an interaction that went viral after the Warriors\u2019 123-115 loss to the Dallas Mavericks<\/a> on Thursday night at American Airlines Center, where the Golden State guard approached Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson, who were chatting and laughing it up on the court after the game.<\/p>\n

From an outside perspective, it seemed like Podziemski was trying to insert himself into the conversation between the former Warriors Big 3, but that wasn\u2019t the case, according to Draymond Green<\/a>. Golden State\u2019s veteran forward discussed the interaction on the latest episode of his podcast, \u201cThe Draymond Green Show.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cY\u2019all stay off my man BP, Green stated. \u201cHe was coming to talk to Klay, but we were in the middle of a conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Podziemski played one season with Thompson before the veteran guard signed with the Dallas Mavericks in the 2024 offseason. Curry, Green, and Thompson were together with Golden State for 12 seasons, so that bond naturally is a lot stronger. Green admired the way Podziemski handled the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was just comin\u2019 to show some love to Klay,\u201d Green continued. \u201cI think most people wouldn\u2019t have the feel to say \u2018hey, I\u2019m just gonna get the hell out of here, I\u2019ll see him another time.\u2019 So Shoutout to BP for being like \u2018you know what, these guys laughing and talking,\u2019 \u2026 he got the hell out of there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thompson came off the bench for a period of time during his last season with the Warriors, partially tied to Podziemski earning more minutes in his rookie season. This fueled the fire even more when this clip went viral on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cGot off my man\u2019s back,\u201d Green said. \u201cI saw a lot of people having fun with that moment. I thought it was pretty funny.\u201d<\/p>\n

Green suggests the clip was blown out of proportion, and that Podziemski handled the moment the way he should have.<\/p>\n

\u201cFun moment \u2026 enjoyed seeing Klay as always,\u201d Green concluded. \u201cWish we would\u2019ve got the win. Tough night for us, but that was a funny moment. I\u2019m glad y\u2019all had fun with it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite what fans perceive to be true on social media, Green is adamant that there is no conflict with Podziemski, and it was just bad timing.<\/p>\n

Podziemski will have even more of an opportunity to contribute with Jimmy Butler<\/a> out for the season with a torn ACL.<\/p>\n
